Most operators treat Nepal like it's one thing: mountains. It isn't. Nepal runs from the flat sal forests of the Terai, where rhinos and tigers still move through Chitwan, up through the terraced mid-hills, into the high desert of Upper Mustang that looks and feels more like Tibet than anything you'd picture from a Kathmandu postcard. Eight of the world's ten highest peaks sit inside this one country. But the mountains are the backdrop, not the point.
The point is what's happening at ground level while you're looking up at them. A Newar silversmith in Patan still working the same trade his family has worked for generations. A Gurung farmer in the Annapurna foothills who'll pour you raksi and tell you about his son working construction in Qatar. A monk in a Mustang gompa who's more interested in asking about your life than performing his for you. That's the Nepal we build trips around, and it's the one most visitors never get near because their itinerary never gives them the time or the access.
How we work
We don't stack sights. We build slower itineraries that put you inside a place long enough for it to become real, with guides briefed on who you are and what you actually want out of the days, not just handed a printed schedule. Acclimatisation days aren't wasted time here — they're when a Sherpa family teaches you to make momos in their own kitchen, or a guide with fifteen years in the Khumbu takes you to a monastery he actually has standing with, not one on the tourist circuit.
Comfort matters, but it's in service of the experience, not a replacement for it. A well-run lodge means you're rested enough to be present for the conversation with the farmer, not shielded from ever having it.
